The April 2017 issue of Decanter Magazine has seen seven Western Australian wines make it into the 35 Top New World Cabernets list.
Plantagenet’s 2013 Cabernet made it to number six on the list, followed by Ringbolt scoring two mentions at numbers eight & 13 for their 2012 and 2014 wines respectively.
The 2014 Vasse Felix Cabernet made it to number 14, with the 2012 Hamelin Bay and 2014 Flametree making it to 19 and 20.
Finally, the 2013 Larry Cherubino made it at number 30 to round off a list highlighting a very successful WA wine industry.
Decanter says “with 16 wines in the top 35, Australia’s great performance showed the most diversity of style, with some lovely opulent Cabernets from the anticipated regions of Coonawarra and Margaret River.”
A highly commendable effort by all wines and winemakers involved.
